Founder's Biography
Mohammed Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, FNSE, FNIQS, is more than a politician—he is a force of change. As a two-time Governor of Kano State (1999–2003, 2011–2015), Nigeria’s first Minister of Defence in the Fourth Republic, and a former Senator, Kwankwaso has left an indelible mark on Nigerian politics.
A bold reformer and a champion of the people, he has redefined leadership through groundbreaking infrastructure projects, transformative education policies, and grassroots empowerment. His unwavering dedication has earned him a massive political following, especially in the North, where the Kwankwasiyya Movement stands as a testament to his impact.

During his two tenures as Governor of Kano State (1999–2003 & 2011–2015), Mohammed Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso spearheaded numerous transformational projects across various sectors, including education, infrastructure, agriculture, and rural development. Below are some of his most notable achievements
Establishment of Two State-Owned Universities
Education was a top priority for Kwankwaso, and his most cherished achievement was the establishment of two state-owned universities:
- Northwest University, Kano – Founded to provide quality higher education opportunities for Kano’s youth
- Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil (now Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology) – Established to boost science and technology education in northern Nigeria
These universities have played a vital role in increasing access to tertiary education in Kano and beyond.
Development of Infrastructure: Flyovers & Road Networks
Under his leadership, Kano State witnessed unprecedented infrastructure development, including:
- Multiple flyovers and bridges to ease traffic congestion in Kano metropolis.
- Extensive road construction across rural and urban areas to improve transportation and accessibility.
- Rehabilitation of existing road networks to enhance connectivity within the state.

Agricultural Transformation & Rural Development
Kwankwaso implemented various agricultural programs aimed at empowering farmers and boosting food production, including:
